The Department of Homeland Security has announced that the agency will recompete its Risk Analysis, Planning & Information Directorate, or RAPID, IT operations and maintenance support contract valued at $100 million. In a notice posted online Wednesday, DHS said a blanket purchase agreement contract will be awarded for the required services.
Contract Details
The single-award contract covers hardware and software maintenance and update, code deployment, system upgrades, and telecommunications management. The selected contractor is also expected to upgrade, patch vulnerabilities, optimize and manage tools and devices in use at the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
IBM is currently providing IT services to the directorate.
The government anticipates the award of the contract in the fourth quarter of 2025. An official request for proposals will be posted on or around May 12.
DHS Priorities for 2025
In October, the agency requested fiscal 2025 funding of $107.9 billion, an increase of $4.5 billion compared to its fiscal 2024 request. The request allocates a significant budget for cybersecurity and the introduction of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence.
