Deloitte has purchased substantially all of the assets of CasePointer, the disease surveillance business of End Point, in an effort to help drive the growth of its public health transformation team.
The company said Monday the acquisition bolsters Deloitte’s government service offerings with the addition of experienced public health professionals and engineers and open-source disease surveillance software.
End Point implements EpiTrax, an open-source platform for epidemiological data collection, organization and maintenance, while Deloitte has its GovConnect digital assets. Together, they will work to assist public health agencies in strengthening emergency response efforts and better identifying, investigating, and mitigating communicable diseases, environmental hazards and bioterrorism events.
“The acquisition of End Point’s CasePointer business builds on Deloitte’s ongoing investments, complements our customizable and human-centered solutions, and supports our growth into new markets,” said Jason Salzetti, principal of Deloitte Consulting and government and public services industry leader at Deloitte. “It also underscores our commitment to IndustryAdvantage and to deepening our industry expertise to enhance the mission-critical work we deliver for our public health clients.”
