David Myers to Succeed Moe Abutaleb as Speedcast Government CEO in 2021

David Myers, a government telecommunications industry leader, will serve as president of Speedcast Government, starting Aug. 24, Monday, and eventually succeed the retiring Moe Abutaleb as CEO by early 2021.

“David has a proven track record, deep sector experience and knowledge, and the leadership and management skills required to drive our company to continued success in the future,” Dave Bryan, board chairman of SCG and a retired U.S. Army major general, said in a statement published Friday.

Abutaleb, a four-decade telecom and aerospace industry veteran, will help with the transition. In 2003, he became CEO of UltiSat, which now operates as SCG following its acquisition by Speedcast International in 2017.

Myers most recently served as president of the communications sector at Peraton. He led DataPath as president and CEO and held senior leadership positions at ITC Global, Spacenet and Harris CapRock. He also served as president and chairman of the Space and Satellite Professionals International.
