David Bean, a Virginia Army National Guard captain and former member of Squire Patton Boggs’ international dispute resolution practice, has joined Day & Zimmermann as general counsel within the government services business.
He will oversee the unit’s compliance, contracts and legal functions and government business support, including for D&Z’s Mason & Hanger and SOC brands, the company said Monday.
I am pleased to be joining D&Z Government Services where I can continue to support the Mission of National Security with a team that is well-known for its trusted, around-the-clock support of the U.S. Government. Furthermore, I am proud to support the Mission by helping our customers operate safely and securely in complex environments around the world.
At Squire Patton Boggs, he worked with government clients on matters related to international treaties, state responsibility and diplomatic immunity. Bean previously served as a judge advocate at the U.S. Army and held the positions of operational law attorney and rule of law adviser during his deployment to Afghanistan.
He also spent three years at the Friendship Public Charter School in Washington, D.C., as a teacher.
