Anthony Rizzo, a two-decade veteran of the data center services industry, has been appointed vice president for the public sector business at CyrusOne (Nasdaq: CONE).
He will oversee the real estate investment trust’s public sector and federal group located in Northern Virginia, where the company maintains more than 1.9 million square feet of data center space, CyrusOne said Thursday.
Rizzo previously worked at Ashburn, Virginia-based data center infrastructure provider CPG Beyond as managing partner and at Schneider Electric MCSS, previously known as Lee Technologies, as senior VP for the public sector.
“Cloud computing deployments continue to be a major priority for the public sector,” Rizzo said. In his new capacity, he aims to help CyrusOne address customers’ cloud migration requirements and transition to as-a-service platforms.
CyrusOne runs a data center campus in Sterling, Virginia, with direct access to essential internet exchange points nationwide.
