Dan Klein, a corporate development executive, has assumed the position of vice president of public sector program management at Lumen Technologies (NYSE: LUMN), GovCon Wire has learned.
He reports to Zain Ahmed, senior VP of Lumen’s public sector, through the company’s office in Herndon, Virginia.
“Dan is a results-driven software and services leader with extensive business development, strategic alliances, operations and project management experience. We look forward to leveraging his experience and thought leadership to continue to evolve our way of working in the public sector,” said Ahmed.
Klein, a recognized Ally Executive, came to Lumen from Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), where he led the company’s federal operations with oversight of digital transformation efforts across contract management, service delivery, partner management, incentives and compliance.
He held leadership roles at Sybase, Counterpane Internet Security and Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and spent nearly eight years in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as director of intelligence and managed global crisis operations centers in South Korea, Greece and Saudi Arabia.
