Jeffrey Blakeman, formerly vice president of operations at Bombardier‘s transportation business in the Americas region, has been named vice president of manufacturing and procurement at Cubic (NYSE: CUB).
His appointment is effective July 2 and he will succeed the retiring Dave Lapczynski, who will remain with Cubic in an executive advisory role, the company said Monday.
Anshooman Aga, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Cubic, said Blakeman will bring engineering, procurement, manufacturing and supply chain management experience as the company aims to modernize business processes.
Blakeman will lead the firm’s manufacturing and procurement operations located in Tullahoma, Tenn.
He previously served as executive director of operations at General Electric (NYSE: GE)’s energy connections group and as executive of manufacturing at GE’s aviation segment.
