Concurrent Technologies Corp. has won a three-year, $11M contract to help the U.S. Army increase the performance and reduce the environmental impact of small caliber ammunition.
CTC said Thursday it will examine the feasibility of producing small projectiles, parts and cases through advanced manufacturing systems and development methods that integrate finite element analyses, simulation and modeling tools.
The Army's Project Manager for Maneuver Ammunition Systems and Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center issued the award via the Department of Defense Ordnance Technology Consortium .
Ed Sheehan , president and CEO of CTC, said the company has helped the service branch develop, test and implement small caliber ammo for many years.
He added that the firm's engineering, scientific, technical and project management professionals will support contract work.
