Massachusetts-based hyperconvergence software startup SimpliVity has hired former Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) sales executives Gary DePreta and Geoff Fancher to join the former company’s sales team, CRN reported Monday.
Kevin McLaughlin writes DePreta, formerly director of the national security agencies business at Cisco, will serve as head of SimpliVity’s U.S. federal sales.

A source also told CRN that Fancher, a senior vice president at WestconGroups Cisco distribution business Comstor in the U.S., will serve as SimpliVity’s vice president of Americas channel sales.
Fancher will directly report to George Hope, VP of global channels at SimpliVity, starting March 21.
DePreta is 10-year Cisco veteran who previously served as manager of channel operations for federal channels and global systems integrators.
His career includes time at International Network Services and IBM‘s(NYSE: IBM) technology services solutions division.
Fancher has been associated with Cisco for 17 years and has held senior executive roles at the information technology firm, including as VP of its U.S. field partner organization, operations director and head of Cisco’s channel advisory board.
