Comtech (Nasdaq: CMTL) will provide professional engineering services and supply terrestrial and satellite networking communications technologies for the U.S. Army under a potential $544 million task order awarded under the Global Tactical Communications Systems II contract.
The company said Monday it will support the project manager tactical network responsible for the Global Field Service Representative program through the contract award.
The GFSR initiative provides information technology infrastructure and communications support for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and NATO forces to enable them to maintain secure and resilient connectivity in support of all-domain operations worldwide.
Ken Peterman, president and CEO of Comtech, said the company’s portfolio of networked communications technologies and professional engineering services will help the Department of Defense and its coalition partners sustain an information advantage in Combined Joint All Domain Command and Control operations.
In 2020, the Army named 22 companies as initial awardees on the 10-year, $5.1 billion GTACS II contract, which covers hardware, software and other IT services to support the development of a tactical communications network for soldiers. Contract work will run through January 2030.
