Comcast Government Services, doing business as Comcast Business, has won a potential 10-year, $102.8 million contract to help the Defense Information Systems Agency replace legacy circuits and establish connectivity with mission partners via ethernet.
The company will use Commercial Ethernet Gateway Region 3 to connect external mission partners to the Department of Defense’s information network, DOD said Wednesday.
The department also seeks to replace aging time division multiplexing-based circuits through the effort.
DISA launched a competitive solicitation for the contract and gathered four proposals. The contractor will receive a minimum guarantee of $500, which DISA will provide from fiscal 2021 operations and maintenance funds.
The firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a six-year base period and two two-year option periods.
Work under the contract will potentially run from June 16, 2021, to June 15, 2031, in Reston, Virginia.
