Defined Technologies acts as a prime contractor on the General Services Administration’s 15-year, $50 billion Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions procurement vehicle for information technology, network and infrastructure services, Comcast Business said Tuesday. GSA approved the transfer of MicroTechnologies’ EIS contract to its now-former subsidiary in November 2020.
“With this strategic addition to our federal government services portfolio we’re well-positioned for even greater growth and success,” said Ken Folderauer, vice president of federal sales for Comcast Business.
“We look forward to working together and delivering innovative solutions that will transform and enhance our federal government’s IT, network and digital infrastructure,” Folderauer added.
The acquisition comes after Comcast Government’s recent string of five consecutive multimillion-dollar DISA contracts to modernize communications network infrastructure and replace the agency’s legacy infrastructure with the new Commercial Ethernet Gateway (CEG).
Through the acquisition, Defined Technologies will retain its place as a prime contractor on the GSA EIS contract, which was originally awarded to only ten prime contractors in 2017.
Tony Jimenez, MicroTech’s founder, president and CEO, noted that Defined Technologies has seen significant company growth over the past few years and said Comcast’s acquisition was a logical step in “taking Defined Technologies to the next level.”
