Work includes care quality and beneficiary complaint reviews, service appeal termination and discharge, medical necessity reviews for the Beneficiary and Family Centered Care Quality Improvement Organization, according to a FedBizOpps summary.
Contractors will also help CMS align Medicare services with the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act, which requires hospitals to treat all emergency-level patients regardless of their financial status.
