The General Services Administration has awarded Clark Construction a potential $524 million contract to build the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s new headquarters at the St. Elizabeths West Campus in Washington, D.C.
GSA said Monday the construction contract includes an Inflation Reduction Act investment worth $115.9 million.
The contractor will build a 630,000-square-foot federal facility for CISA under the project, which is part of an ongoing initiative to consolidate the Department of Homeland Security in a single location.
Alejandro Mayorkas, secretary of DHS and a previous Wash100 awardee, said bringing CISA to the department’s St. Elizabeths Campus will facilitate collaboration across DHS components and offices and help incite cohesive work to ensure the security of U.S. critical infrastructure.
“CISA requires a long-term solution for our headquarters to best meet the needs of our Agency. We are pleased that GSA has awarded a building construction contract to move the process forward,” said Jen Easterly, director of CISA and a 2024 Wash100 awardee.
According to GSA, the contract includes about $80 million to buy glass, steel, asphalt and other low-embodied carbon construction materials and $35 million to meet green building standards.
A solicitation for the contract was first issued in April 2023.
