Chris Sambar, former senior vice president for the First Responder Network Authority program at AT&T (NYSE: T), has been promoted to executive VP for the company’s technology operations, Fierce Wireless reported Tuesday. He succeeds Scott Mair and will oversee investment, relationship management and engineering operations for AT&Ts wireline and wireless network services.
Sambars more than 17-year career at AT&T includes time across various operational leadership roles. He led the FirstNet initiative for two years and served nearly one decade at the U.S. Navy.
AT&T appointed Chief Data Officer Jason Porter to lead its FirstNet team in SVP role. He managed engineering, cybersecurity, cloud and mobility programs prior to his most recent capacity. Porter served in the U.S. Army before he joined the telecommunications firm in 2002.
