Chenega has appointed Anna Cometa, a litigator with extensive experience representing individuals and businesses in Alaska, as its new corporate counsel. The government contracting company announced Cometa’s new role in a LinkedIn post Wednesday.
Chenega Names Corporate Counsel
Cometa brings to the role over a decade of experience in litigation. Before joining Chenega, Cometa worked at Holmes, Weddle & Barcott, a full-service commercial law firm based in the Pacific Northwest. At HWB, she practiced commercial litigation in the Anchorage office, where she handled contract disputes and maritime, construction, election and probate cases.
She also served as a magistrate judge and special master in Alaska’s Palmer Court, worked in the civil and criminal divisions at the Alaska Attorney General’s Office, and was a member of the Alaska Violent Crimes Compensation Board.
Aside from her public sector and corporate work, Cometa serves as an adviser to the Anchorage Opera and volunteers to the American Cancer Society, the Red Cross of Alaska, the Anchorage East Rotary Club and the Alaska Bar Association.
She earned her juris doctor degree from Suffolk University Law School.
