Charles Beames, former president of Vulcan Aerospace, has joined York Space Systems as executive chairman of the board and chief strategy officer at the Denver-based spacecraft bus design and manufacturing company.
He holds more than 30 years of experience in business operations, space and military systems, engineering and legislative affairs and will lead York Space Systems’ corporate strategy and growth efforts in his new position, the company said Monday.
“I look forward to working with the York Space Systems leadership team to help drive continued growth and innovation within the company and among its enterprise partners throughout the entire space and technology sector,” Beames said.
“With Chuck’s knowledge, experience, and expertise, I know we will continue to realize the limitless potential of responsive and economically viable solutions in space,” said York Space Systems CEO Dirk Wallinger.
Before he joined Vulcan Aerospace, Beames previously served as a principal director of space and intelligence systems at the Defense Department.
He also currently serves on the board of several other space companies.
