CenturyLink has changed its name to Lumen Technologies to reflect the company’s commitment to helping lead enterprises through the 4th Industrial Revolution and advance the use of technology to further human progress.
"Our people are dedicated to furthering human progress through technology. Lumen is all about enabling the amazing potential of our customers, by utilizing our technology platform, our people, and our relationships with customers and partners,” said Jeff Storey, president and CEO of Lumen.
The company’s Lumen Platform will leverage global fiber network, security, edge cloud and communication and collaboration capabilities to help customers achieve retail and industrial robotics, smart cities, automated factories, real-time virtual collaboration and other applications in the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Lumen said it does not plan to alter its financial reporting or strategy as a result of the rebranding effort and that the CenturyLink brand will continue to be used for small business and residential clients over traditional networks in the U.S.
