CenturyLink (NYSE: CTL) has made a series of leadership promotions within its strategic government business.
Barbara Farnham, formerly senior director of federal programs, has been promoted to senior director and general manager for special programs at CenturyLink, the company said Wednesday.
Farnham, who joined CenturyLink in 2001, will oversee sales and account management operations and will be responsible for the companys relationship with intelligence and national security agency clients.

Farnhams knowledge of contracts, operations and technology will focus us on maintaining our outstanding customer relationships while growing our strategic government business, said David Young, senior vice president of strategic government at CenturyLink.
Meg Coker, former director of capture management and a 20-year federal market veteran, has elevated to the role of senior director for government strategy and will lead the companys capture and proposal management and business development organizations.
Meg has led the strategy and capture of some very significant wins and has been instrumental in identifying and developing market alliances that create an advantageous, best-in-breed set of offerings on our government contracts, noted Young, a 2019 Wash100 winner.
Zain Ahmed, who assumed the role of VP and GM of CenturyLinks federal civilian and law enforcement sales practice in December, will now oversee the companys cybersecurity relationship with the Department of Homeland Security.
Farnham, Coker and Ahmed will directly report to Young.
