The U.S. Customs and Border Protection has announced plans to launch a competition for a contract to provide technology service desk operations support services for its Office of Information and Technology.
According to a notice published Saturday on the Acquisition Planning Forecast System, the Department of Homeland Security’s CBP expects the contract requirement to be worth over $100 million and anticipates the release of a solicitation by May 26.
Tech Service Desk Contract Requirement
CBP expects to award the contract by the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025 under the General Services Administration’s 8(a) STARS III acquisition vehicle for IT services and customized IT services-based platforms.
The agency uses technology service desk, or TSD, services to document, diagnose, address and track reported information system issues or requests to ensure that CBP offices and enforcement agencies have access to CBP systems needed to meet their missions. TSD support operations are performed through telephone, email, chat or web-based self service with limited in-person support.
According to the notice, the awardee should be a vendor certified under the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) program.
Work will be performed in Ashburn, Virginia, with an expected completion date of Feb. 21, 2031.
