Carlyle Group (Nasdaq: CG) is preparing to buy ManTech International (Nasdaq: MANT) and an acquisition of the Herndon, Virginia-based government services contractor by the global investment firm could be worth $4 billion, Bloomberg reported Sunday.

ManTech posted $676 million in revenue for the first quarter of its 2022 fiscal year, up 6.7 percent from the prior-year period, and attributed the sales growth to acquisitions and organic expansion from contract awards.
