CAEs (NYSE: CAE) U.S. arm has purchased Alpha-Omega Change Engineering for about $29 million as part of efforts to expand work in U.S. security programs and build up its capabilities in training systems integration.
AOCE brings existing contracts as well as past performance in unmanned systems, aircrew training and courseware development for fighter and special operations aircraft and space and missile defense, Ray Duquette, president and general manager of CAE USA, said in a statement published Wednesday.
Established in 1997, Williamsburg, Va.-based AOCE has approximately 600 employees and provides operational test and evaluation, aircrew training and engineering support services for U.S. intelligence agencies and the Defense Department through several contracts.
Those include a training and courseware development contract with the U.S. Air Force for F-22, F-15 and F-16 aircrews and operational engineering services contract with the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command.
The Canada-based aerospace and defense contractor also announced the formation of a mission solutions subsidiary within CAE USA that seeks to pursue and carry out U.S. security initiatives through a proxy agreement with the government.
CAE USA Missions Solutions will offer aircrew training services; operations and test support; command-and-control and intelligence services; space and missile defense; and advisory and assistance services to DoD and other U.S. agencies.
