Brillient Exec Chair Sukumar Iyer Assumes CEO Post Again in Leadership Team Realignment

Sukumar Iyer, founder and executive chairman of Brillient, has taken a dual role as chairman and CEO of the Reston, Virginia-based government technology services provider in a restructuring move implemented as part of its two-year growth plan.

Brillient said Thursday Iyer replaces Paul Strasser and returns to the chief executive position as it looks to grow its footprint across government digital transformation programs under the “Brillient 21” strategy.

Iyer previously held positions at Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and CDF Research, and served as chair of AFCEA International’s small business committee and as industry chair of American Council for Technology-Industry Advisory Council’s intelligent automation working group.

Richard Jacik, general manager of Brillient’s health sector, will additionally serve as chief digital officer and help drive the company’s digital transformation goals. His career also includes time as a vice president at CGI’s (NYSE: GIB) federal business and as a senior VP at Acentia.

Brillient added that Chief Growth Officer RJ Kolton and Chief Financial Officer Jill McFarlane will lead strategic expansion initiatives and business operations, respectively.

Jackie Marsteller, general manager of federal civil and national security, will retain her role.

The company noted it has ongoing work with the departments of Defense, Homeland Security, Energy, Treasury and Agriculture.
