Brett Pierson Takes Helm of Textron Aviation’s Defense Group

Brett Pierson, former vice president of defense strategy and sales at Textron’s (NYSE: TXT) aviation segment, has been promoted to president and CEO of the Textron Aviation Defense business.

He succeeds the retiring Tom Hammoor and will also hold the title of senior VP for defense and special missions, the company said Monday.

As president and CEO, Pierson will be the ultimate decision-maker in matters related to aircraft sales, training and after-sales support.

The former U.S. Navy officer joined Textron Aviation Defense five years ago as a senior pilot test and has over 30 years of experience in the military, defense acquisition and flight testing.

He piloted more than 80 aircraft types such as the Navy’s Citation trainer platform.
