GSA Picks Brasfield & Gorrie for $196M Fort Lauderdale Courthouse Design-Build Project

Brasfield & Gorrie will provide design-build services to a federal courthouse construction project in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, under a potential $196 million contract from the General Services Administration.

The future building for legal proceedings will serve as home to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, U.S. Marshals Service and other judicial agencies in Florida, GSA said Wednesday.

GSA initially allocated project funds during the government’s 2018 fiscal year and has received additional appropriations through the $1.7 trillion federal spending package for fiscal 2023.

The agency expects the 252,000 gross-square-foot courthouse to be finished within four years.

Birmingham, Alabama-based Brasfield & Gorrie provides general contracting, design-build and construction management services to customers in the government, health care, infrastructure and water and wastewater treatment sectors.
