Boyd Johnson, a corporate compliance and governance professional with more than 25 years of industry experience, has been appointed chief legal officer at space data provider Spire Global.
He succeeds Ananda Martin, who has served as Spire’s general counsel since 2018, and will report directly to co-founder and CEO Peter Platzer, the company said Thursday.
Before this appointment, Johnson served as general counsel, corporate secretary and chief compliance officer at SPS Commerce.
He previously worked as senior vice president and chief legal officer at Merrill, where he led a contract management business unit for the company’s software-as-a-service offering.
Johnson also held the general counsel role at test and simulation systems provider MTS Systems.
