Boeing's Aviall Arm Appoints Eric Strafel as President, CEO

Eric Strafel, a former vice president in the military aircraft business at Boeing (NYSE:BA), will transition into a new role as president and CEO of the airplane maker’s supply chain management services subsidiary Aviall., the companies said Friday.

Dallas-based Aviall provides new aviation parts and other aftermarket services to both commercial and defense customers at Boeing, while the subsidiary is also a distributor of aviation products from more then 240 manufacturers.

“Eric brings 20 years of leadership experience back to Aviall, ” said Lynne Hopper, vice president for material services at Boeing’s commercial aviation services business.

“His experience in international operations and general, business, defense and commercial aviation align very well with Aviall’s strategic focus.”

Strafel served as VP of autonomous systems for Boeing’s military aircraft business prior to his CEO appointment and held a senior VP role at Aviall before his most recent position at the parent company.

At Aviall, he led operations and business development functions and was in charge of commercial and defense operations.

Prior to Aviall, Strafel worked at L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) as VP of supply chain management and has held othger leadership roles at Honeywell (NYSE:HON), Precision Conversions and United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
