TYSONS CORNER, VA, March 12, 2018 Boeing (NYSE: BA) plans to launch a three-year technology development program in Australia focused on autonomous systems in efforts to build on the country’s capabilities in the air and sea domain, ExecutiveBiz reported.
The company said the program is part of its ongoing collaboration with the Queensland government and seeks to facilitate rapid innovation in locally developed, exportable autonomous systems as well as drive global business opportunities, economic growth and local job creation.
Chris Raymond, vice president and general manager for autonomous systems at Boeing and a 2018 Wash100 inductee, said the initiative also works alongside the company’s autonomous technology global strategy in the commercial and defense sectors.
