Boeing (NYSE: BA) has opened a Plano, Texas-based facility to serve as headquarters of its newly established global services business unit.
Boeing Global Services integrates the services functions of the companys government, commercial and space segments and will focus on the delivery of services in the areas of engineering, digital aviation and analytics, modifications and maintenance and supply chain as well as training and professional services, Boeing said Friday.
The aerospace and defense contractor appointed Stanley Deal, formerly senior vice president of the firms commercial aviation services business, as president and CEO of Boeing Global Services in November 2016.
Dennis Muilenburg, chairman, president and CEO of Boeing, said the third business unit will help the firm advance capabilities across all support and services areas that include information-based offerings, data analytics and traditional parts.
