Boeing (NYSE: BA) finalized its acquisition of web-based and mobile flight applications provider ForeFlight for an undisclosed sum as part of the companys growth strategy.
Ken Sain, vice president of digital solutions and analytics at Boeing, said in a statement published Wednesday the company will build on Foreflights accomplishments in the defense, business and personal aviation market to deliver integrated platforms to clients.
Sain added the transaction expands Boeings portfolio of digital services to compete in the $2.8T services market.
Houston-based Foreflight has worked with Boeing in the past two years to deliver Jeppesens aeronautical charts and data to pilots through its mobile platforms.
