Boeing (NYSE: BA) finalized its acquisition of web-based and mobile flight applications provider ForeFlight for an undisclosed sum as part of the company™s growth strategy.
Ken Sain, vice president of digital solutions and analytics at Boeing, said in a statement published Wednesday the company will build on Foreflight™s accomplishments in the defense, business and personal aviation market to deliver integrated platforms to clients.
Sain added the transaction expands Boeing™s portfolio of digital services to compete in the $2.8T services market.
Houston-based Foreflight has worked with Boeing in the past two years to deliver Jeppesen™s aeronautical charts and data to pilots through its mobile platforms.
