Summit 7 has welcomed Bill Wilshire as its new chief delivery officer, a strategic move that underscores the company’s focus on delivering exceptional results to clients in the areas of cybersecurity, compliance and managed services.
Wilshire steps into the role with over 25 years of experience in IT services, security and managed solutions, Summit 7 said Wednesday. His appointment comes as the company prepares to meet the demand for trusted cybersecurity partners amid improvements to the Department of Defense’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program.
Who Is Bill Wilshire?
Wilshire is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and a former U.S. Army airborne combat engineer. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School then held executive positions at Core BTS, Single Digits and Cirrus Systems.
“Summit 7’s mission, growth and talent made this opportunity incredibly compelling,” Wilshire commented about his new role. “The company has already proven its ability to lead in the CMMC space, and I’m excited to help scale delivery in a way that supports that leadership for years to come.”
As CDO, Wilshire will oversee professional services, managed services, cleared services and the company’s project management office, with a focus on ensuring excellence, scalability and a consistent client experience.
“Bill brings over two decades of proven leadership in building high-performing delivery organizations and scaling them for growth,” said Scott Edwards, CEO of Summit 7 and a 2025 Wash100 Award recipient.
“His experience spans enterprise technology, managed services, and military leadership – all areas that directly align with our mission to secure the defense industrial base,” Edwards added.
