In his new role, Roberts will oversee the technical direction for all U.S. federal businesses. He is tasked with representing federal customers and championing their needs within the company and promoting the transformative capabilities of the Riverbed platform to federal agencies, partners and system integrators. The new CTO brings extensive experience in technical support, implementation consulting, project management and sales engineering.
Roberts’ Career History
Before his promotion, Roberts served as the deputy CTO for Department of Defense and Intelligence customers. He specialized in network and application performance services for customers across the federal government sector. He spent his first four years at the company as a senior solutions architect.
Before joining Riverbed, Roberts spent eight years at BMC Software as a solutions engineer and software consultant. He joined BMC Software as part of its acquisition of Numara Software, where he served as a field sales engineer.
Roberts was the manager of computer support and operations at The New York Times from 2005 to 2008. He started his career in 2001 as a technical support supervisor at Eastman Kodak.
