Brown has been serving as head of DIU within the Department of Defense since 2018. Under his leadership, the unit transitioned 26 tech capabilities to warfighters and brought 70 first-time contractors to DOD, the White House said Friday.
Prior to his role at DIU, he served as a White House Presidential Innovation Fellow at DOD and led efforts to help the Pentagon establish the National Security Innovation Capital to support dual-use hardware companies with private investment.
Brown’s industry career included time as CEO of Symantec and Quantum (Nasdaq: QMCO).
He is a trustee of the Berklee College of Music and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
