A Bechtel subsidiary has been awarded three contract modifications worth $1.43B combined to provide nuclear power plant components for U.S. Navy submarines and aircraft carriers.
Naval Sea Systems Command will initially obligate $1.10B for Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc. in Monroeville, Pa., using the service branch’s fiscal 2019 and 2020 shipbuilding and conversion funds, the Department of Defense said Friday.
BPMI provides design, procurement services to the U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, as well as updates and replacement parts for overhaul and refueling operations. The business also equips the fleet with information technology platforms.
