A Bechtel subsidiary has secured a $772.3 million contract to provide the U.S. Navy with nuclear power plant components installed in aircraft carriers and submarines.
Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc. will perform contract work in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and Schenectady, New York, through September 2033, the Department of Defense said Friday.
Naval Sea Systems Command awarded the contract on a sole source basis and will obligate the exact contract amount in the Navy’s fiscal 2024 shipbuilding and conversion funds.
The award comes less than a week after BPMI secured a pair of contracts worth $889 million combined to produce naval nuclear propulsion components for the service branch.
