TYSONS CORNER, VA, Sept. 27, 2017 BAE Systems aims to establish a digital shipyard in Australia to support the construction of nine anti-submarine warfare ships for the country’s navy as part of the company’s bid for the SEA 5000 Future Frigate contract, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.
The company said Thursday the potential facility in Adelaide will house production of the Global Combat Ship – Australia and utilize approximately $80 million in information technology investments for its digitization as well as the transfer of the ship design and other intellectual property to the Australian government.
