BAE Systems Inc., the British defense contractor’s U.S. subsidiary, has won a potential four-year, $75.3 million contract to perform engineering and technical work on combat identification systems for the U.S. Navy.
The Defense Departmentsaid Monday the company will provide 1, 075, 200 man-hours of CIDS support to the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division as well as to Australia and Japan under DoD’s foreign military sales program.
NAWCAD received three offers for the contract through a competitive bidding process online.
Work covers system integration, in-service engineering, installation testing and evaluation, logistics, repair, validation, training, quality assurance, technical management and laboratory maintenance services.
BAE Systems Inc. will perform work through April 2020 in St. Inigoes, Maryland, and on various naval ships and at shore installations globally.
According to DoD, the program combines $70 million in purchases for the Navy, Japan and Australia and about $5.3 million in related commercial services from Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT).
