BAE Gets $87M IDIQ to Engineer Digital Communication Terminals for US, Foreign Military Clients

A BAE Systems business unit has received a five-year, $86.9M contract to engineer Link 16 terminals designed to help U.S. and international defense customers transmit voice and data communications.

BAE's information and electronic systems integration group will perform engineering and integration work on Multifunctional Information Distribution System-Low Volume Terminals under the sole-source, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Department of Defense said Monday.

The MIDS-LVTs are intended to support digital communications in platforms being used by the U.S. Navy, Army and Air Force as well as Spain, France, Germany and Italy.

Naval Information Warfare Systems Command will obligate funds upon issuance of each delivery order. Contract work will run through December 2025.

BAE developed MIDS with Collins Aerospace, a business unit of Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX), to help military users exchange and secure tactical data links via the Link 16 network.
