Aydin Mohtashamian Named Kagwerks & DTC North America President

Technology company Kagwerks and DTC North America have appointed Aydin Mohtashamian, a more than two-decade defense technology industry executive, as president.

Kagwerks said Tuesday Mohtashamian brings to the role over 20 years of experience in integrated sensing, defense tech, unmanned aircraft systems and C5ISR platforms with a strong background of driving growth, leading engineering, product and manufacturing organizations, delivering mission-focused capabilities and establishing partnerships across defense markets.

“Aydin’s operational expertise, strategic vision, and customer-first mindset make him an ideal fit for Kagwerks and DTC North America,” said Paul Sangster, executive general manager of the tactical communications segment at Codan. “His experience leading high-growth technology organizations will be instrumental as we expand our product portfolio and strengthen our support to the warfighter.”

Mohtashamian said he is honored to join Kagwerks and DTC North America and looks forward to working with the team to improve customer partnerships, drive growth and “continue delivering capabilities that strengthen the warfighter’s edge.”

Who Is Aydin Mohtashamian?

Mohtashamian most recently served as chief operating officer at Parry Labs, where he led operations and tech development efforts across five sites. As COO, he played a role in delivering contract wins in UAS integration and electronic warfare, broadening manufacturing capacity and advancing product strategies in modular open-architecture platforms and artificial intelligence-enabled sensing, among other areas.

In a LinkedIn post, he announced his departure from Parry Labs, where he spent over three years collaborating to help address complex challenges.

Before Parry Labs, the U.S. Army veteran served as president of QinetiQ’s C5ISR solutions business, where he led key captures in Army modernization efforts and next-generation payloads. He also led engineering and production programs at MTEQ and L3 Technologies.

The West Point graduate has an MBA from the University of Maryland and master’s degree in systems engineering from Texas A&M University.

Is Kagwerks a Military Supplier?

Kagwerks provides ruggedized tactical technology designed to enhance warfighters’ situational awareness and operational effectiveness. The company offers a portfolio spanning software capabilities, advanced hardware integration, mission-critical accessories and other systems used across defense and special operations communities.

In 2024, Codan acquired Kagwerks to strengthen and expand its presence as a provider of tactical military radio systems within its core markets.

In 2022, Kagwerks secured a U.S. Army contract to continue fielding a chest-worn networking hub across additional combat units in support of the service’s Nett Warrior program.
