Axon (Nasdaq: AXON) has finalized its acquisition of Dedrone, an airspace security systems provider, for an undisclosed amount to expand its technology capabilities designed to improve national security and public safety.
Axon said Wednesday the transaction will enable it to advance drone as first responder programs and safeguard against unauthorized threats posed by unmanned aircraft systems by facilitating the integration of Dedrone’s smart airspace security systems with its public safety platform.
The addition of Dedrone’s airspace awareness platform, DedroneBeyond, will help extend the capability of Axon’s DFR technology by providing public safety agencies with real-time intelligence to facilitate emergency response.
According to the public company, defense agencies and military bases use Dedrone’s artificial intelligence-backed airspace security technologies to provide critical protection against hostile drones.
