TYSONS CORNER, VA, Sept. 20, 2017 The First Responder Network Authority board has cleared a $73.5 million budget for fiscal year 2018 to support the efforts of FirstNet and contractor AT&T (NYSE: T) to deploy a nationwide broadband network for public safety, ExecutiveGov reported Tuesday.
The agency said Thursday its public-private partnership with AT&T worked to bring down the required operating budget by 13 percent compared to the current spending level to fund the operation and oversight of the network as well as outreach, marketing and innovation activities.
