Private equity firm ATL Partners has established LightRidge Solutions, a new portfolio company focused on designing, building and producing small space and airborne sensors and payloads designed to meet national security requirements.
Bill Gattle oversees LightRidge Solutions as CEO and brings to the position 35 years of experience in space and airborne markets, ATL said Monday.
Gattle, former president of space business at L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX), said he is excited by the opportunity to introduce the company’s space and aerial sensors and payloads, space electronics and C4ISR platforms to new missions and markets.
LightRidge is composed of two operating units, GEOST and Ophir.
ATL acquired space payload provider GEOST in 2021. LightRidge purchased airborne laser radar sensor manufacturer Ophir in late 2022.
Mike Kramer, a partner at ATL Partners and chairman of the board of LightRidge, said ATL is thrilled to work with Gattle and his management team to advance growth and look for strategic acquisitions to deliver more capabilities and differentiated platforms.
