Mike Thurston, formerly a senior program manager at Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), has been promoted to vice president of the defense group at the Reston, Virginia-headquartered information technology company, G2Xchange Defense reported Wednesday.
The retired U.S. Army colonel brings to the role over three decades of military leadership experience, having previously served as chief of staff of the Army Program Executive Office for Command, Control and Communications-Tactical.
In this role, he helped oversee the development and deployment of tactical communications networks, satellite systems, radios and software applications for the Army.
His military career included time as deputy director of acquisition and systems management within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology; program manager of mission command; and executive officer to the Army chief information officer.
