TYSONS CORNER, VA, Aug. 1, 2017 IBM (NYSE: IBM) has collaborated with the Army Materiel Command in efforts to deploy the company’s Watson artificial intelligence platform to help predict maintenance needs for the Stryker armored combat vehicles, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.
GCN reported Thursday that AMC’s logistics support activity installed sensors on 350 Strykers to provide data that Watson analyzed based on maintenance manuals and work orders in order to determine the condition of individual vehicles and enable fixes ahead of time.
Sam Gordy, general manager of IBMs federal business and an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2017, said Watson served as a “personalized medicine for each vehicle.”
