Army to Solicit Prototype Proposals for Combat Vehicle Robotics Increment 3 Program

The U.S. Army plans to release a solicitation for proposals to develop prototypes under the third increment of the Combat Vehicle Robotics program.

The CoVeR Inc 3 program seeks to build and integrate technologies to enable multidomain robotic and autonomous system capabilities to team with Army formations in support of close combat, targeting, acquisition, reconnaissance and other combat warfighting functions, according to a notice posted Monday on the beta SAM website.

The Army is also interested in proposals that seek to develop soldier machine interfaces to control and interact with robotic systems, build manned/unmanned teaming behaviors using the soldier-in-the-loop and come up with protocols and methods for the assessment and safe operation of the systems.

The service plans to use the Ground Vehicle Systems other transaction agreement to award the prototype development effort with a performance period of three years. Army Contracting Command signed the OTA with the National Advanced Mobility Consortium in September 2017.

The Army will hold the acquisition process in two stages. The first stage will include a rough order of magnitude and a request for technical paper, while the second phase will involve a virtual pitch day scheduled for June.
