The U.S. Army has released a request for information notice for a potential 10-year multiple award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract vehicle estimated to have a ceiling of over $1 billion for software development support.
According to the SAM.gov notice from Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground, the New Modern Software Development IDIQ is planned to have task orders for software enablement efforts in support of Army systems.
Support will include development of a custom software product; customization, integration or modification of a software offering; software as a service enablement; and software security and hosting modernization. Efforts will also feature DevSecOps, Agile, lean, continuous integration/continuous delivery and other modern software development practices.
“Software is essential to modern military operations. It is a key component in the Army’s weapons, business, and training systems and is embedded into the enterprise processes that make the department function,” the Army notice reads. “Consequently, the Army’s ability to rapidly develop, deliver, and adapt resilient software is critical to achieving a competitive advantage over adversaries.”
Responses to the RFI are due June 10.
