The U.S. Army has released a draft request for proposals for the full and open segment of a follow-on indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract covering research and development capabilities to address the mission needs of the service branch’s Space and Missile Defense Command.
The Design, Development, Demonstration and Integration II Domain 1 contract vehicle has a five-year base ordering period with five option years and encompasses R&D support to help USASMDC build global space, missile defense and high-altitude capabilities and enhance deterrence and detection of strategic attacks, according to a notice published Tuesday on SAM.gov.
D3I2 Domain 1 services include design, development, modernization, fabrication, integration, modification and testing of R&D prototypes, systems, architectures and projects.
Responses to the draft RFP are due April 15.
The Army began seeking proposals for the small business set-aside segment of the contract, D3I2 Domain 2, in January.
The contract has an estimated programmatic level ceiling value of $4.62 billion, of which $2.57 billion is anticipated to be shared among all Domain 1 prime contract awardees.
