Army Picks Three Firms for Potential $704M Hard Armor Plate Supply Contract

Three companies were awarded spots on a potential $704.2M contract to supply hard armor plates to the U.S. Army.

Leading Technology Composites, 3M‘s (NYSE: MMM) Ceradyne subsidiary and TenCate Advanced Armor will compete for small arms and x-small arms protective insert orders, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

Army Contracting Command received three bids for the cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price contract online and will determine funds and work locations with each order. The Pentagon expects the contractors to finish by March 5, 2023.
