Load King and Schutt Industries have been awarded a potential seven-year, $187.9 million shared contract to manufacture 11 low-rate initial production M870A4 semitrailers for the U.S. Army.
The Defense Departmentsaid Friday the firm-fixed-price contract also covers subsequent full-rate production of up to 1, 350 trailers, basic issue items, system support packages and vehicle testing and validation, training, technical manual development and logistical services.
The Army Contracting Command received six bids for the procurement effort via the internet.
The contract will run through Aug. 26, 2023 and the service branch will provide funds and performance location with each order.
