Kirk Vollmecke
Kirk Vollmecke, a retired U.S. Army major general with more than 28 years of acquisition and contract management experience, has been named chief operating officer of MicroTech.
He will report directly to MicroTech CEO Tony Jimenez and help expand its portfolio of information technology, managed services and cloud computing offerings as well as its research and development activities, the company said Tuesday.
Throughout his Army career, Vollmecke held various leadership roles such as program executive officer for intelligence, electronic warfare and sensors with responsibility over 50 acquisition programs valued at $3B.
He also provided oversight for acquisition logistics, supplier management, contract administration, lifecycle management and relationship building with key DoD, Congress and industry stakeholders.
The military procurement veteran owns Havre de Grace, Md.-based professional services firm Vollmecke Group.
